The Victorian OH&S Act and Energy Safe Victoria require that EVERY Contractor who works in and around Overhead and or Underground assets, provide on every work site a Licensed Spotter to oversee in conjunction with site management the safe undertaking of works within and around the NO GO ZONES We provide your Business with the Services of a Competent Certified Safety Spotter Observer who's sole responsibility is the observing and warning against the unsafe approach to Overhead Power Lines and other Electrical Apparatus.
The Safety Spotter knows the rules when operating Cranes, Booms, Scissor Lifts, Concrete Pumps, Drilling Rigs, Excavation, Scaffolding, near Power Lines and underground Power Cables.
No Go Zone - Poles:
- from 6.4 to 3m use a Certificated Spotter for type of plant in use.
- No Go Zone Permit (special Provisions document) required inside 3m to the power asset or any work over the power asset - including a spotter
No Go Zone - Tower Lines:
- entry permit outside 10m from the conductor use extreme caution
- between 8 and 10m from the line or tower use a certified spotter who also holds the workcover certificate for the plant being used or has a Dogman Ticket which covers all plant.
- No Go Zone Permit Required within 8m of the tower base
